NEW DOCTOR STRANGE 2 TRAILER: WANDA'S FAMILY & ZOMBIES

Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness may not be far away now, but that hasn't stopped Marvel Studios from sharing a new trailer with some intriguing footage.

Notably, we get to see a glimpse of two key things in the latest footage for the hugely anticipated MCU sequel to hit theaters. Firstly, a shot of Wanda Maximoff (aka Scarlet Witch she transforms into on the small-screen) and her two kids that appeared in the Disney+ series WandaVision. It's interesting that we see Billy (played by Julian Hilliard) and Tommy (played by Jett Klyne) appear in the MCU... because, well, they don't actually exist in the real world outside of Wanda's grief-stricken creation - or do they, somewhere?

The other big reveal was the shot of a zombified Doctor Strange, which is a most terrifying image indeed, reminding us of the endless - and frankly dark and scary - paths the MCU could go down in Phase 4.

Check out the latest trailer for the upcoming Marvel sequel to see what we are talking about:

Truthfully, Multiverse of Madness looks like absolute chaos. While we may have seen starting points for multiple timelines in both WandaVision and Loki, it was Spider-Man: No Way Home where things really got interesting, incorporating villains and other Spidermen from other movie franchises into one jaw-dropping film. And let's not forget that end-credits scene with Tom Hardy's Eddie Brock (aka Venom) where a smidge of the symbiote is left behind in the MCU world when Hardy's character is zapped back to his own reality.

It appears anything is possible moving forward, with splintered and alternate timelines all over the show, crashing into one another, Multiverse of Madness looks like it'll step things up a notch from No Way Home, with other versions of Benedict Cumberbatch's character, animated versions (possibly from the What If...? series and a whole number of other possibilities that will surely pop up and surprise us all.

Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness is in cinemas from May 6.
