IRONHEART TO DEBUT IN BLACK PANTHER 2

Dominique Thorne will debut as Ironheart in Black Panther: Wakanda Forever ahead of her Disney+ series launch.

As confirmed by Marvel Studios president Kevin Feige in an interview with Comicbook.com, "We’re shooting Black Panther: Wakanda Forever right now, and the character of Riri Williams, you will meet in Black Panther 2 first," he said. "She started shooting, I think, this week before her Ironheart series."

Tech genius Riri Williams was created by Brian Michael Bendis and Mike Deodato in 2016's Invincible Iron Man comic book after Tony Stark apparently died. She built her own version of the Iron Man armour and was later aided by a Stark A.I. Thorne's previous roles include parts in Judas and the Black Messiah (with Black Panther'Daniel Kaluuya) and If Beale Street Could Talk.

Black Panther: Wakanda Forever is expected to see the return of Danai Gurira, Letitia Wright, Daniel Kaluuya, Winston Duke, Lupita Nyong’o, Florence Kasumba, Martin Freeman and Angela Bassett along with I May Destroy You creator Michaela Coel in an unknown role. According to rumours, the sequel to 2018's Black Panther will also see the debut of Marvel characters Namor (possibly played by Tenoch Huerta) and Namora.

The movie has a release date set for July 8, 2022. Disney+'s Ironheart has no premiere date as yet.
